Shedd Aquarium, Chicago

Chicago is sure a chilly place in winter.

We thought we'd take a visit to the Shedd Aquarium...along with everyone else!

There's lots of pretty fish. To shoot them without reflections you have to put your lens up against the glass.

Here's a nice blue one.

I liked the reptiles. A red-eyed iguana stares me down. Click on this picture and check out its skin. Very freaky.

This penguin didn't move much. I feel the same way on the weekends.

There were too many people there so this is what it looked like most of the time.

We went to watch the dolphins leap around. They'll do anything for fish (remember the musical opening to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe"?).

This man loves his fish.

So long Shedd. (I know it's a bit boring but that's what the day was like.)

The view from our warm hotel room.

Winter in Chautaugua County, N.Y.

Red Barn near Bemis Point.

Lonely picnic table next to frozen Lake Chautaugua.

Bare tree in the early morning light.

Pittsburgh 21 Seattle 10

The only thought that gives me some degree of comfort is seeing State of Ohio Troopers ticketing all eastbound cars with Pennsylvania plates on the I-80 turnpike.
