Roadside Gems or Rural Blight?

It's amazing the things you see traveling along Ohio's rural roads. It can be a photographer's paradise with all kinds of ancient barns, farmhouses, tractors, trucks and more just sitting along the road. So are these gems or rural blight? Perhaps a bit of both.

A concrete silo with a green cap roof. Definitely rural blight. Tear this one down please!

A duck pond with lots of color. I suppose this could be a gem. The water smelled. The geese liked it.

A bright red barn, green grass with clover tops and glistening bricks. A roadside gem that can be found on Music St. in Russell Township.

Is this one great? Looks like the type of truck used in the movie "Sorcerer." The front grille is a classic. I saw this near Jefferson, OH.

Out of nowhere (and I do mean nowhere cause I can't find it on the map) is this amazing octagonal farmhouse. It's in some need of repair (maybe an Amish carpenter rescue team).

This dump ain't gonna make it. It's funny how dilapidated homes in urban areas look horrible but the same thing in rural areas have some kind of antique-like charm.

I love this bowed building. Definitely a roadside gem.

In better days it sold apples and potatoes.
