The Shoe Tree
Somewhere in Bainbridge Township (actually it's on Savage Rd.) is what's called the shoe tree. I've lived in Bainbridge Twp. for over 20 years and there has always been sneakers, boots and even flippers stapled to the tree. It's no legend, here it is. Wow. There's got to be an interesting story behind this, and I plan on finding it. Thanks for this provocative photo, Jim.
John,
The shoe tree is actually in Bainbridge Twp. There is also a fiction book about it. You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/24cfwq
If you are a geotagger you can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/2bzzcu
BTW this is not the original shoe tree. For thirty years people have been nailing shoes to the original tree which finally fell over. I'm not sure how long this one has been getting pierced.
Good luck on your story.
Jim
That's even more interesting, Jim.
