Fall Colors and a bit of LensBaby Magic

A few gadgets have made their way into my camera bag. One of the most interesting is the LensBaby. It creates a focus "sweet spot" while blurring the rest of the image. It helps create a wide range of effects from distortions to dreaminess. The pictures below were taken on a rainy Saturday. The wetness and dreariness of the day helped create the colors, moods and effects of the pictures. Enjoy.

Here is a good example of the LensBaby at work. The focus is on the tree and the rest of the image is blurred.

Here the LensBaby effect is more pronounced with both swooshes and swirls.

A more standard use of the LensBaby. The single layer of focus is on the leaf and the effect is upon the grass making it look like the wind was blowing on the grass.

This LensBaby image gives the closest to using a camera lens in macro mode. Just perfect!

I put a wide angle lens on top of the LensBaby to get this riverside scene.

A fence gets the focus while the tall grass gets the blurring.

Enough of the Fall colors. Here we have a gas station getting the LensBaby treatment.
