Wazopia: The Web Blog of Jim Fisher
A place to present my thoughts, ideas and astonishment's about life in general. It'll have lots of photography plus my moments of epiphany about music, culture, books, politics, religion, media, sports, business and my favorite gadgets. I will not write about work! Enjoy!

It's Fall Color Time. Yeah!!!
Finally, the leaves are turning color and it looks like it will be a spectacular fall in Northeast Ohio. I've been in a photo drought lately and this is a good time to get the shutters clicking again. Labels: Arboretum, canon 5D, fall, focus, green, Holden, leaf, leaves, lensbaby, Northeast, Ohio, photo, red
These images were taken at beautiful Holden Arboretum in Lake County. Enjoy!
Ahhh, wet weather, colorful leaves and the LensBaby. The trick with the LensBaby is not to get so focused about the focus (pretty puny aren't I?). It's very tricky to focus anyway. You have only a single plan of focus and if you hit it then you're pretty lucky. If I want sharpness I can use the 50mm but I wouldn't get the unique LensBaby "bokeh" in the background.
The trick is the creation of the overall effect. I love the colors of the main subject but what is even better is the background which wants to jump out and be part of the main subject! Note the light bubbles in the center right of the image. Where did they come from except from a LensBaby?

Give me a green star!
A green star. You see these on many old homes, barns and buildings in the Midwest. I'm not sure why but someone thought it might indicate the owner is a Western Star "Mason". Labels: building, canon 5D, green, island, kelley's, mason western, midwest, Northeast, Ohio, photo, star, wall
This image was taken on Kelley's Island, Ohio.

PacMan Lilly Pads
They look like PacMan! Chop, chomp, chump! Actually I took these at Swine Creek Park in Geauga County. Labels: flower, green, image, lily, Ohio, Pac-man, pad, picture, pond, water
Straight down shot.
The flowers make a nice contrast to the leaves.
The thing to do is to get maximum contrast between the water and the flower.

Things that are green
Everything turned really green over the last couple of weeks. Let's have a look...
The green trees shimmer over the pond in my backyard.
South Chagrin MetroPark has a little water falls with green foliage under its streams.
How about those green and gold stalks in the fields? Nice green there!
This green field is cluttered up with yellow wild flowers. C'mon green!
Here's some nice green plants growing in-between these rocks.
Nothing looks better with green than red like this cardinal.
